"This is a disaster, because Vladimir Alexandrovich is the most beloved, one of the most beloved artists of our troupe, I mean, he is one of the actors who is adored by the younger generation of our theater, his peers, and those who are older than him," he said.

Gnido emphasized that Simonov had a special humor, irony for life and a strong love for the theater. He also expressed concern about the condition of the People's Artist's relatives, adding that the theater staff can currently provide them with support.

In addition, Russian theater and film actor Mikhail Vaskov added that Simonov was a wonderful person and a good friend.

Vaskov also stressed that the actor was cheerful and joyful.

Later, the director of the theater, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Kirill Krok, announced that the cause of Simonov's death was heart failure. Krok added that this happened at the Volyn hospital, where the People's Artist had been staying for the past two weeks.
