A powerful flare of class X1.79 was recorded on the Sun.

A powerful flare directed towards the Earth was recorded on the Sun. This was announced on November 9 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

"There is a strong explosion on the Sun-Earth line. <...> On telescopes, plasma is released along the Sun-Earth line, partially shifted to the north," the laboratory noted.

The final flash score reached the X1.79 level, which is one of the highest.
