The Sea Bridge ferry from Trabzon, Turkey, after three and a half days of downtime at the Sochi roadstead, set off on its way back without being allowed to enter the Russian port. This was announced on November 8 by Sergey Turkmenyan, General Director of the SVS Shipping company, which organizes and maintains this route.

"We were refused," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to Turkmenyan, the ship was sent back to Trabzon at night. He specified that the ferry will arrive at the Turkish port on the afternoon of November 9th.

Earlier, on November 6, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported that Sea Bridge was unable to disembark passengers in Sochi due to the lack of permission to enter Russia. He performed the first flight on the Trabzon – Sochi route in 14 years. The ferry arrived in Sochi around 10:00. However, the Russian side did not accept the vessel because it did not have permission to enter the territorial waters of the Russian Federation, and the port of Sochi was closed for exercises until 12:00. Later, on November 7, the ship nevertheless received permission to enter the port of Sochi.

Sergey Turkmenyan, CEO of SVS Shipping, which organized the flight, said that passengers of the Sea Bridge ferry, which had been waiting two days for permission to enter the port of Sochi, would be able to receive free tickets for the return trip to Trabzon, Turkey, as compensation. Turkmenyan stressed that the passengers were provided with food and comfortable accommodation in the cabins at the expense of the carrier company.
