Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on November 8 that next week he plans, together with the Russian side, to send a request to the US government with a request to suspend sanctions against the Russian-Serbian company Oil Industry of Serbia (NIS), which entered into force on October 9.

"On the NIS issue, next week will be extremely important for us. I expect that on Monday or Tuesday we, together with the Russians and several other partners, will send a letter to the US government to ask for the suspension of sanctions for a month, two or three," Vucic said on Serbian Radio and Television (RTS).

According to him, the sanctions can be suspended based on changes that have been made to the company's management.

Earlier, on November 7, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced that the United States had completely exempted Hungary from restrictive measures on Russian energy supplies via the Turkish Stream and the Druzhba pipeline. In addition, he added that Hungary has agreed with the American Westinghouse on the purchase of nuclear fuel.
