The majority of Russians supported a complete ban on the sale of vapes
69% of Russians supported a complete ban on the sale of vapes in Russia. Such data was obtained as a result of a survey conducted by SuperJob, which I reviewed on November 9. "Газета.Ru ".
The main arguments of the respondents in support of the ban are: "it is harmful to health," "vapes are synthetic chemicals," as well as the opinion that "if tobacco were also banned, it would be great." Only 7% of respondents oppose the ban, although three months ago this figure was 11%.
Opponents cite arguments such as: "There is no garbage or smoke from vapes, they almost do not smell" and "They will sell uncontrollably, underground." 15% of respondents said they didn't care, considering it a "personal choice," while 9% found it difficult to answer.
Women are more likely than men to support the ban (71% versus 67%), while men are more likely to oppose it (12% and 2%, respectively).
Among Russians aged 35-45, support for a ban on vaping reaches 81%, while among young people (younger than 35 years) This figure is 57%. At the same time, every fourth respondent in this age group believes that he does not care.
On November 6, Russian President Vladimir Putin positively assessed the idea of introducing a complete ban on the sale of vapes in the country. He stressed that not only legislative measures are important, but also systematic work with young people.
On October 21, the first reading of a bill proposing to ban the sale of nicotine-containing products at public transport stops took place in the State Duma. The document provides for a ban on the retail sale of tobacco and nicotine-containing products, hookahs and devices for their consumption at stops of all types of public transport, including urban and suburban transport.
