As of October 1 of this year, more than 40.6 million pensioners live in Russia. This was confirmed on November 9 by data from the Social Fund of Russia (SFR).
According to the documents reviewed by RIA Novosti, the exact number of pensioners is 40,662 million, of which over 7.5 million are working, and more than 33.3 million are unemployed.
The SFR reported a day earlier that the average old-age pension in Russia amounted to almost 25.2 thousand rubles as of October 1 of this year. It was noted that pensioners who continued to work at the same time receive payments in the amount of 22,378.72 rubles on average.
