Honda has announced a recall of about 406,000 vehicles in the United States due to the defect.

Honda has announced a voluntary recall of about 406,000 2016-2021 Civic vehicles in the United States, the reason for the recall was the risk of wheels detaching due to possible defects in the rims. This was announced on November 7 on the website of the automaker's press service.

"Honda recalls about 406 thousand. Honda Civic model year 2016-2021 in the USA for checking and replacing improperly manufactured auxiliary wheels," the publication says.

The problem arose due to a violation of production technology in a limited batch of aluminum alloy wheels (3276 pieces), which may lack steel inserts at the nut attachment points. This can lead to deformation of the landing surface, loosening of the fasteners and disconnection of the wheel during movement.

Honda recommended that car owners contact authorized dealerships to check and fix the problem for free.

Earlier, on October 25, it was reported that the American automaker Chrysler Stellantis announced the recall of 291.6 thousand cars in the United States due to overheating of the radiator fan circuit, which may cause it to fail. Earlier, Stellantis had already recalled 298.5 thousand cars in the country due to a defect in the gearbox cable.
