FT has learned about the refusal of Arab countries to restore Gas on US terms
The Arab countries opposed the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip on the terms of the United States, and will not allocate their funds for it. This was reported on November 8 by the Financial Times newspaper, citing sources.
It is noted that earlier, Israeli and US officials, including US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, put forward the idea of starting the reconstruction of the Israeli-controlled part of the Gaza Strip, arguing that this could be a positive alternative for the Palestinians compared to living under the administration of the Palestinian movement Hamas.
"Arab countries are opposed to the US—backed proposal to rebuild a "New Gaza Strip" in the Israeli-controlled half of the enclave, as they fear that this could lead to a long-term partition of the Palestinian territory," the publication says.
