Karasin called the statements of the Prime Minister of Sweden political rudeness.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson dreams of returning to "pre-Petrine times." This was stated on November 8 by Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, commenting on his words that the Baltic Sea belongs to Sweden and the Baltic countries.
"Choosing a decent definition, I will say that the Swedish prime minister has clearly gone overboard and dreams of returning the situation to pre—Petrine times," he wrote on the Telegram channel.
Karasin also mentioned the Prime Minister's statement that Sweden and the EU countries should prepare for Russia's long-term isolation. The diplomat called the prime minister's statements political rudeness.
He also recalled the Battle of Poltava and noted that the modern Swedish authorities "have become more boring to live," they want provocations and a return to boorish intonations towards Russia.
"I want to assure you that, if necessary, we are able to support this tone," Karasin added.
On the eve of November 7, Kristersson said that Europe needs to prepare for the alleged long-term isolation of Russia amid the continuation of the Ukrainian conflict. In addition, Kristersson stressed the importance of strengthening European competitiveness, which he considers the basis for Ukraine's security and support.
