Three women have been detained in France for preparing for a terrorist attack.
French security services have detained three women who were planning to carry out a terrorist attack at a cultural institution in Paris. This was reported on November 8 by the newspaper Le Figaro with reference to the National Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor's Office.
The women were detained by officers of the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI) of France in early October in Vierzon, Lyon and its suburb of Villerban after several months of surveillance, the material says. It is specified that they are 18, 19 and 21 years old.
It is reported that this is the sixth thwarted terrorist attack attempt in France since the beginning of 2025.
The oldest suspect has a disability. Investigators suggest that the women planned to carry out a terrorist attack using explosive belts in a bar or concert hall in Paris.
On August 27, the media reported that police in France had detained two minors on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts in synagogues and near the Eiffel Tower. It was clarified that the detainees, being from families of Arab-Muslim origin, were in contact with representatives of a secret community, and also tried to buy weapons through the darknet (DarkNet — shadow Internet).
