- The brother of the injured gas service employee told the details of the gas explosion in Tula
An explosion of household gas in a house, which caused a partial collapse of a house in the Tula region, could have occurred due to smoking by one of the residents of the house. Alexander, the brother of the injured gas service employee Vladislav Yushkin, told Izvestia on November 8.
Alexander said that his brother Vladislav arrived with a partner on a call from local residents due to the strong smell of gas. The leak occurred on the ground floor.
"Someone called. Well, there was a gas leak, and there was a smell of gas. <... > They arrived, tried to open the door. They were trying to figure out who lived there, where they lived with their neighbors. But in the end, they didn't open it. <... > They started throwing stones at him to attract attention, as a result, someone appeared in the window, closed the window and, according to Vladislav's wife, tried to smoke. Well, he must have struck something. And at that moment, accordingly, the explosion occurred," he said.
According to the man, a fragment of a residential building fell on his brother as a result of the incident, while his partner received minor burns.
Earlier in the day, a house partially collapsed in the Tula region as a result of an explosion of household gas. It was noted that the explosion led to a partial collapse of the end wall of the first entrance, as well as the roof and ceilings of the second and third floors. Shortly after, the governor of the region, Dmitry Milyaev, announced four victims during the incident. Also, according to the Izvestia source, employees of the gas service were among the injured.
