- The United States called the meeting between Orban and Trump a "black mark" for Zelensky
The meeting of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban with US President Donald Trump in Washington became a "black mark" for Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky and his regime. This opinion was expressed on November 7 by retired Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis of the United States Army.
"For him, this meeting is like a black mark, because instead of acknowledging reality, as Viktor Orban has already done, he refuses and stubbornly ignores the obvious — that it's over," Davis said on the Deep Dive YouTube channel.
According to the military expert, the Ukrainian leader continues to rely on the support of European allies, ignoring Russia's proposals for a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Orban said during a meeting with Trump on November 7 that the United States and Hungary were seeking a settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, while other Western countries were not. The American leader, in turn, noted that the Ukrainian conflict could end in the "near future."
