The State Duma reported on the longest New Year holidays in 12 years in 2026

New Year's holidays in 2025-2026 will set a 12-year record for duration: Russians will get 12 days off and return to work only on January 12. Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, told about this on November 8.

"In 2026, the holidays will last until January 11 inclusive. Russians will start working only on January 12," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The deputy recalled that since 2013, the duration of New Year's holidays for Russians was, as a rule, 10-11 days.
