The North Atlantic Alliance can transfer 800,000 soldiers to the Russian border through Germany, which would make Germany a central springboard in the event of an armed conflict. This was announced on November 7 by Lieutenant General Alexander Solfrank of the NATO Joint Support and Support Command (JSEC).
"In the event of a conflict, Germany will become the central foothold of NATO. As soon as possible, up to 800,000 troops and their equipment from different NATO countries can be deployed through Germany to the eastern flank," the German newspaper Die Zeit quoted him as saying.
