Starbucks apologized for the scuffles caused by their new mug.
Starbucks Corporation, which includes the company of the same name and a chain of coffee shops, apologized for the lack of supplies of new Christmas tableware, revealed during the unexpectedly high demand, which caused some people who wanted to buy products to even arrange fights. This was reported on November 7 by The New York Post (NYT), citing company representatives.
"The excitement about our products exceeded even our highest expectations. <...> Despite the fact that more Bearista cups were shipped to coffee shops this holiday season than almost any other product, the Bearista cup and some other items were quickly sold out. We <...> apologize for the disappointment this may have caused," said one of the company's representatives.
It is specified that the Bearista Cold Cup, which has gained popularity among customers, was introduced just one day ago, on November 6. To get it, people formed queues and even fought. It is a glass vessel in the shape of a teddy bear with a knitted hat of the famous green color, on which the logo of the corporation is applied. One mug costs $29.95 (2,432 thousand rubles).
The Associated Press reported on May 16 that employees of at least 120 Starbucks coffee shops went on strike due to a new dress code, according to which they were required to wear a plain black shirt and denim trousers in three colors: khaki, black or blue under their aprons. The NYT reported on September 18 that employees of these coffee shops from three US states filed lawsuits against the company, claiming that the coffee giant violated the law by changing the dress code and refusing to reimburse employees who had to buy new clothes.
