On Black Friday, Russians buy premium cosmetics, laptops, and televisions. Experts from the largest companies told Izvestia about this.

Black Friday has been one of the most anticipated shopping events in Russia for many years. For the cosmetics market, this period is traditionally accompanied by increased sales and increased customer activity. Moreover, the sales season begins long before the calendar "Black Friday" — already in late October and early November," explained Galina Neverova, Head of Product Portfolio Management at Avon Russia.

According to her, the buyer has become much more conscious and rational — he does not just want to save money, but makes profitable investments in high-quality products.

"Many customers choose this period to purchase products from a higher price category. In the premium segment, the most noticeable growth is in demand for perfumes, as well as for expert facial skin care lines. Serums and creams with active ingredients and complex action are especially in demand," explained Neverova.

According to the preliminary results of Wildberries' Black Friday, sales of holiday goods grew the fastest, which is probably related to preparations for the New Year, as well as laptops and televisions, which can be purchased at a good discount. In addition, toys, handicrafts, as well as tires and wheels are in the top in terms of sales dynamics during the promotion period.

"The dynamics of sales in these subcategories for the period from October 28 to November 6, compared with September 28 – October 6, varies from 30 to 100% (in total). Among the most popular products (by total sales) during the promotion period are the PS5 Blu-Ray Slim 1 TB game console, various models of air grills, Redmi smartphones, RTX 5070 video cards and MacBook Air," the company's analysts said.

On November 6, Sergey Kuzmenko, head of the Roskachestvo Digital Expertise Center, warned that fraudsters were actively creating phishing sites by Black Friday, which would be on November 28. It was clarified that in addition to fake websites, the expert called for careful attention to QR codes posted in public places. According to him, scammers often paste them on information stands in entrances or distribute them through flyers, promising exclusive promo codes and maximum discounts.
