Trump explained why he canceled a meeting with Putin in Hungary
The head of the White House, Donald Trump, on November 7, during a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, explained the cancellation of a planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest by allegedly showing no signs of Russia's readiness to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
"The main disagreement was that they [allegedly] just don't want to stop yet," he explained the reason for refusing to meet with the Russian president.
Trump expressed confidence that an end to the conflict is possible "in the not too distant future." He also stressed that if a new meeting with Putin is agreed, he would like to hold it in the Hungarian capital.
Also during the same meeting, Orban clarified that the United States and Hungary seek to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, while other Western countries do not. At the same time, Trump confirmed his intention to discuss with Orban the possibility of organizing a meeting with the Russian leader.
