Nutritionist explained the dangers of snacking on the go
Eating on the run does not give a feeling of fullness and can negatively affect the functioning of the stomach. Nutritionist Irina Pisareva told about this on Friday, November 7.
"Large chunks, poorly chewed on the run, enter the stomach and make it work with a vengeance. This can lead to heaviness, discomfort, bloating, flatulence and heartburn," she said in an interview with RT.
According to the doctor, this type of diet can lead to irritable bowel syndrome, as constant haste and stress are one of the triggers of this condition.
"It takes 20 minutes for the brain to receive satiety signals from the stomach. If you eat quickly, this signal does not arrive in time, which can lead to overeating. A person eats a portion and can supplement it with something else. As a result, there are more calories than the body needs," she warned.
The nutritionist added that they often eat fast food, pastries, as well as sweet and coffee drinks on the run.
"These are empty calories with lots of sugar. A person gets an energy shock, which soon generates a craving for sweets again," concluded Pisareva.
In turn, Ekaterina Titova, senior lecturer at the Department of Pathophysiology and Clinical Pathophysiology at the Institute of Biology and Human Pathology at Pirogov University, gastroenterologist, nutritionist, warned in a conversation with the Moscow City News agency that a standard set of two or three types of rolls may contain more than half the daily calorie intake for an adult.
Earlier, on October 1, endocrinologist and nutritionist Natalia Kovaleva told us what foods you need to eat to avoid exhaustion in the cold season. The specialist noted that experts note that in autumn it is especially important to get enough vitamins that support health and immunity.
On September 17, Daria Kozhevnikova, head of the BeneFit fitness studio, told NSN that the body needs time to recover between meals, and people have a lot of snacks that they don't really need.
At the same time, an experimental study by German scientists has shown that five days of snacking on chocolate bars, chips and other unhealthy foods can lead to permanent changes in brain function, as well as spoil a person's mood, according to the website. kp.ru .
