The State Traffic Inspectorate announced inspections of drivers in Moscow and the regions

On Friday and next weekend, November 7-9, the State Traffic Inspectorate will conduct mass and continuous checks of drivers, special attention will be paid to the suppression of the facts of driving under the influence. The upcoming raids were announced by the regional departments of the department.

Traffic police will carry out preventive measures on the roads in Moscow, as well as in the Rostov, Ulyanovsk, Kirov, Ivanovo, Lipetsk regions, the Republic of Mordovia and other regions of the country.

"Driving under the influence of alcohol is a gross violation of traffic regulations, which leads to the most serious consequences. An intoxicated driver poses a threat not only to himself and his passengers, but also to other road users. The State Traffic Inspectorate urges citizens who see that a person is driving in an inadequate condition to report this to the police. Traffic inspectors will definitely take all necessary measures to respond to such reports," said Police Colonel Anton Belan, Deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child Traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

He recalled that driving under the influence of alcohol, as well as refusing a medical examination, entails disqualification for a period of one and a half to two years and a fine of 45 thousand rubles. In addition, in some cases, the driver is already facing criminal liability.

Earlier, on November 1, it was reported that following the results of the first nine months of 2025, a decrease in road traffic accidents was recorded in Russia. The number of road accidents decreased by 2.4% (94.9 thousand cases), the number of dead — by 3.4% (10.1 thousand people), injured — by 3% (117.7 thousand people).
