A resident of Ulan-Ude (Republic of Buryatia) lost more than 1.4 million rubles due to fraud. The scammers convinced the woman to "invest" money through an online platform.

According to the victim, the attacker contacted her by phone and promised high returns on "investments." Under the guidance of the interlocutor, the woman installed an application on her smartphone and opened a bank account. A resident of Ulan-Ude made several transfers. To withdraw funds, the scammer demanded to attract a "remitter," writes IA UlanMedia.

The victim attracted a friend, who also "invested" more than 70 thousand rubles. Then another friend was involved in the scheme, her damage amounted to 100 thousand rubles.

In the Kamchatka Territory, since the beginning of 2025, citizens have lost more than 500 million rubles due to fraud.
