Lukashenko pointed out the importance of developing the engine industry in Belarus
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated the need to develop the domestic engine industry during a visit to the Zhitkovichi Engine Plant. This was reported by the BelTA news agency on November 7.
"We will develop the engine plant. This is not a business — a machine—building country, we produce all cars - from passenger cars to BelAZ. And sometimes we look for stuffing all over the world. We need to produce our own," Lukashenko said.
The head of Belarus paid special attention to the creation of a fully Belarusian motorcycle engine. He stated the need to create a proper motor so that "the heart of the motorcycle was Belarusian."
In an interview with Prime Minister Alexander Turchin on September 23, Lukashenko said that the Belarusian government should actively engage in the country's industry due to problems in key sectors. The President of Belarus instructed the Prime Minister to create a group of experts at the National Bank who will analyze the situation in the economy.
