Three suspects have been detained in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in connection with the disappearance of Roman Novak, a crypto fraudster, and his wife Anna. This was announced on November 7 by the TV channel 78.ru .

According to the TV channel, one of the suspects in the murder allegedly turned out to be Konstantin Sh. In 2010, he was sentenced to 15 years for selling narcotic substances. All three detained defendants are probably Russian citizens.

According to the channel's source, Novak was banned from traveling abroad because he had previously been accused of fraud in excess of 7 million rubles while managing various projects.

However, as noted by 78.ru This did not stop Novak from going into hiding in the UAE. After his release in 2023, he left for Dubai, where he created his crypto project Fintopio. The crypto fraudster offered the app's bonds to customers at a discount, as well as TON tokens. At the same time, the minimum contribution was from $ 1 million. When trying to withdraw funds, it became known that the tokens did not actually exist.

The murder of Novak and his wife in the UAE became known earlier in the day. It was clarified that they were abducted for the purpose of extortion, and when they did not receive a ransom, the couple was killed.

Later, a criminal case was opened into the disappearance of a married couple. It was reported that on October 2 of this year, Novak and his wife were supposed to meet with unidentified investors in the city of Hatta. To do this, their personal driver took them to the parking lot by the lake, where they got into another car and left for a meeting. Later, the connection with the spouses disappeared.
