Construction of the largest robotic logistics complex for cargo storage and sorting in southern Russia has begun in Rostov-on-Don. On Friday, November 7, Governor Yuri Slyusar visited the construction site, the press service of the head of the region reported.
Currently, the installation of load-bearing columns and enclosing structures is underway at the site. The construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2027. Investments in the project will amount to 700 million rubles.
The new complex will become part of the North Caucasus Logistics Company. The head of the region got acquainted with its activities and discussed development prospects with CEO Viktor Halyn.
A warehouse with a height of 30 meters and an area of 2.2 thousand square meters will be equipped with a robotic cargo storage and handling system using 3D shuttle technology, which will ensure the storage of 10 thousand pallets. Full automation of processes without human intervention is provided. The system will be managed using domestic software.
"The loader can be any one: German, Chinese — it doesn't matter. But the "brains" should be ours, the Russian ones. And when we put our equipment under the control of Russian software with our best practices, with our patents, we feel safe enough, regardless of whether our foreign partners are in our market or not," explained Halyn.
According to the governor, such high-tech logistics complexes should soon form the basis of the industry. "This is an example of an enterprise of the future. The Rostov region is located in the center of the macroregion, where all flows of goods converge. Taking into account our large—scale plans for the development of logistics links, the industry can only develop further in such a robotic automated format," said Slyusar.
Annual tax revenues to the budget from the operation of the new complex are estimated at 42 million rubles. The company will create more than 40 new high-tech jobs with salaries above the regional average, the company's CEO promised.
