The UK lifted sanctions against the interim president of Syria
Britain has lifted sanctions against Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa for the transitional period. This was announced on November 7 on the website of the British Ministry of Finance.
"The following individuals have been removed from the sanctions list and their assets are no longer subject to freezing: Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa," the publication says.
Earlier that day, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) removed al-Sharaa from the sanctions list. It was clarified that restrictive measures were also lifted from Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khattab.
