Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In response to the terrorist attacks by the Kiev regime on civilian targets on the territory of the Russian Federation, the Russian army, using high-precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), carried out seven group strikes against enterprises of the military industry of Ukraine and facilities of the gas and energy complex that provided their work, transport infrastructure used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), military airfields, repair bases for weapons and military equipment, assembly shops, storage and preparation sites for launching attack drones, as well as temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian armed forces, nationalists and foreign mercenaries.

In addition, during the week, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation continued to destroy the encircled AFU group in the area of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region, Russian military personnel are clearing out scattered enemy groups in the settlements of Kupyansk-Uzlovoy, Kurilovka and Petropavlovsk. The Russian army thwarted six attempts by the enemy to unblock the encircled units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the settlements of the Kharkiv region, and also stopped three attempts by Ukrainian formations to regain control of the Oskol River crossing and break through the encirclement.

"The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses and completed the liberation of the settlement of Uspenovka, Zaporizhia region. The manpower and equipment of two mechanized brigades, three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two air defense brigades were defeated. In total, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 1,695 military personnel, two tanks, 11 armored combat vehicles and 96 vehicles in this area. 11 field artillery guns, nine electronic warfare stations, and four ammunition and materiel depots were destroyed," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

During the week, air defense systems shot down 17 guided aerial bombs, 13 HIMARS multiple rocket launchers manufactured in the United States, as well as 1,497 aircraft-type drones. In turn, the forces of the Black Sea Fleet eliminated seven unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the northwestern part of the Black Sea.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 95,376 UAVs, 635 anti-aircraft missile systems, 25,889 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,609 multiple rocket launchers, 31,134 field artillery and mortars, 46,064 pieces of special vehicles.
