Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on Western leaders to hold direct lines with citizens at a briefing on November 7.

"It is in our country that the president is drawing a straight line. Maybe someone in Western European countries will take the risk and at least once hold a direct line with their people?" said Zakharova.

She noted that then European leaders will find out what their citizens think about supporting the Kiev regime.

In September, Vasily Koltashov, an economist and head of the Center for Political Economic Research, said that by reaching a budget deficit that was almost twice the EU norm of 3%, French President Emmanuel Macron and his government showed that they could not cope with the country's economic development. According to the expert, the state needs to stop its aggressive foreign policy and the search for external means to solve internal French problems — according to Koltashov, they simply do not exist.

Bernd Baumann, a member of the Alternative for Germany party, told Izvestia on October 28 that Germany could no longer continue sending money to Ukraine, as it was burning up without a visible peace offensive. According to him, it is possible to achieve a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict only if Russia's security interests are taken into account. He said that Germany needs a new security architecture, but for this it is necessary to establish contacts with Russia.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
