Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on Western leaders to hold direct lines with citizens at a briefing on November 7.

"It is in our country that the president is drawing a straight line. Maybe someone in Western European countries will take the risk and at least once hold a direct line with their people?" said Zakharova.

She noted that then European leaders will find out what their citizens think about supporting the Kiev regime.

According to him, it is possible to achieve a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict only if Russia's security interests are taken into account.
