Dozens of people were injured and hospitalized after an explosion occurred during Friday prayers at a mosque located on the territory of a school complex in the Indonesian capital Jakarta. This was reported on November 7 by the Reuters news agency, citing the police.
"The police are investigating the cause of the explosion at the scene. <...> The number of hospitalized was 54 people. Their injuries range from mild to serious, including burns," said Asep City Police Chief Edi Suheri.
The newspaper notes that, according to footage from local news channels, the mosque building was not severely destroyed by the explosion.
In August, the Syrian internal security forces prevented an attempted bombing of a Christian church in Tartus province in the west of the country. As a result, two militants were detained, an explosive device that they planned to install in the church was seized, as well as leaflets with threats against local Christians.
