A woman was killed when a train hit Sakhalin

An electric train hit a woman in the Dolinsky district of the Sakhalin region. The victim died on the spot.

The incident occurred in the evening on a stretch of road adjacent to the Sokol station. According to SakhalinMedia news agency, the driver of the train, which was traveling on the Dolinsk — Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk route, gave sound signals and applied emergency braking, but it was not possible to avoid hitting a pedestrian.

The railway staff called an ambulance, and the doctors pronounced the victim dead. An investigation is underway into the incident.

In Khabarovsk on November 6, three adults and one child were injured when a passenger bus collided with a train.
