- In Italy, the performance of opera singer Abdrazakov in the production of "Don Juan" was canceled
The decision of the Italian theater to remove the Russian opera singer Ildar Abdrazakov from the production of the opera "Don Juan" was another example of the Russophobic policy of the West. This was stated on November 6 in an interview with Izvestia by Italian political analyst Lorenzo Pacini.
Earlier, on November 6, it became known that Abdrazakov's performance in Italy was canceled without explanation — he was supposed to perform the title role. Representatives of the cultural institution declined to comment on the decision.
"I think it's not an incident at all. This is another step in a very gross Western manifestation of Russophobia, which has spread, as we know, not only since the beginning of the special military operation, but also before Western countries began to impose sanctions against the Russian Federation," the expert stressed.
According to Pacini, such attacks on Russian artists are a form of ideological pressure and manipulation of public consciousness. He noted that culture and music, on the contrary, should unite people, because they symbolize peace and mutual understanding.
Earlier, on September 9, it was reported that the concert of Russian pianist Denis Matsuev in Athens, scheduled for November 21, was canceled. The event was cancelled due to the "international situation". The press service of the Athens State Orchestra clarified that Matsuev would be replaced by another soloist.
