Soldiers of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation captured a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), who mistakenly entered their positions while searching for matches. This was announced on November 7 by the commander of the reconnaissance unit of the 25th Combined arms army of the Zapad group of forces with the call sign Khariton.

A soldier from the combat guard comes up, says someone has come to see you there. I say, "Take the weapon and launch it." Comes in. "Can I ask you for matches?" I say, "Of course." And we understand that this man is not from the Russian army, and he understands that he was mistaken. He says, "Okay, guys, I'm off, I have to go." "No, you've already come," he told TASS.
