Crews of D-30 howitzers of the 30th motorized rifle regiment of the North group of forces destroyed camouflaged positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the area of a special military operation in the Sumy region. This was announced on November 7 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
In the course of combat work to create a buffer zone in the Sumy region, artillery units destroy daily manpower, armored vehicles, artillery and mortar crews of the Armed Forces of Ukraine formations exposed on the line of combat contact.
"Our task now is <...> to create a buffer zone for our own safety, so that the enemy cannot fire on our territory in any case," said the battery commander with the call sign Storm.
The gunners work closely with the calculations of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Reconnaissance drones quickly identify camouflaged enemy shelters, military equipment and areas of concentration of Ukrainian militants. After receiving the coordinates, the military personnel of the calculations immediately begin to destroy the enemy.
The range of the 122-millimeter D-30 howitzer is more than 15 km, while it is capable of firing up to eight rounds per minute. The howitzer is designed to destroy and suppress enemy manpower located in trenches, dugouts and dugouts, as well as to destroy and suppress enemy infantry firepower.
On November 6, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that in the Dnipropetrovsk region, crews of T-80BVM tanks of the Vostok group of forces destroyed the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The successful actions of the tankers allowed the attack aircraft of the Vostok group of forces to advance and gain a foothold on new frontiers.
