In Mississippi, the last laboratory monkey that escaped after an accident was discovered and caught. This was reported on November 6 by the Associated Press (AP), citing the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

"The last of several monkeys that escaped after an accident on a highway in Mississippi has been found and captured," the publication says.

It is specified that the animal was discovered by a local resident, who called the specialists and reported on the location of the monkey, after which the specialists caught it.

Earlier, on November 3, it was reported that in Mississippi, resident Jessica Bond Ferguson, fearing for the lives of her children, shot a monkey infected with hepatitis and coronavirus. The incident occurred near Ferguson's house when her 16-year-old son noticed the animal in the yard. The woman knew that monkeys that escaped from laboratory trucks could carry dangerous viruses.
