Calculations of the Tor-M2 air defense system destroyed a reconnaissance UAV

Servicemen of the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) crew of the 27th Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the Center group of forces destroyed the Shark reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on September 7 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

Having received the combat mission to go on combat duty, the calculation of the Tor-M2 air defense system marched to a given area to cover the airspace. Upon arrival in the area, the servicemen began monitoring the airspace over the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The close-knit work of the calculation's military personnel made it possible to quickly identify enemy UAVs. The target was timely detected by the radar facilities of the complex, escorted and destroyed by an anti-aircraft guided missile.

"There is absolutely nothing heavy. We enter the position, turn on, the car sees everything very well, there are no problems. We immediately capture it, report to the higher command, and receive a command from it to destroy the target," said Stanislav Logachev, the head of the calculation.

Modern radar equipment available on board the Tor-M2 complex allows combat crew operators to easily and accurately detect air targets in their area of responsibility and effectively destroy them. The high accuracy of combat use allows the calculation to eliminate up to sixteen enemy air targets using a single ammunition package.

Since the first day of the special military operation, the calculations of the Tor-M2 air defense missile system of the separate anti-aircraft missile division of the 27th Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the Center group of forces have been providing air cover for ground forces, on combat duty at the front line, saving the lives of personnel and civilians.

"In fact, every drone is interesting in its own way. Combat work is always interesting," said Logachev.

Battle of the motors: a transporter has been developed for assault groups

The new vehicle is adapted for transporting soldiers and cargo, evacuating the wounded and installing anti-aircraft machine guns.

On November 6, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published footage of how calculations of the strike UAVs of the North group of forces destroyed field artillery guns of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region. Video footage from the scene, obtained in real time, recorded the destruction of self-propelled guns and ammunition.
