The potential cancellation of tariffs imposed by the current White House administration could turn into a disaster for the country. This was announced on November 6 by US President Donald Trump.

"In a sense, this would be a disaster for our country. <...> Of the eight conflicts that I managed to stop, five or six were stopped thanks to duties," he replied to a question from one of the journalists, a video posted on the White House YouTube channel.

Trump added that he does not believe that the "burden" of duties falls on the shoulders of citizens, as they, in his opinion, receive enormous benefits in the form of national security. The American leader said that since the beginning of such a policy, he has managed to attract about $17 trillion to the state, and this amount is expected to grow to $21 billion by the end of 2025.

The Reuters news agency reported on the same day that if the Supreme Court, skeptical of the legality of Trump's tariffs, bans duties, the White House will find another way to conclude trade deals.
