The media reported on the possibility of Kazakhstan joining the Abraham Agreements
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev may announce the country's accession to the Abraham Agreements with Israel during a planned meeting with American leader Donald Trump. This was reported on November 6 by the Axios portal, citing sources.
"President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is expected to announce during a meeting with President Trump that his country will join the Abraham Accords," the publication says.
According to one of the sources, this step should activate the Abraham Agreements as a framework for cooperation between the Israeli side and the Arab and Muslim world under the leadership of the United States. It is specified that the American leader wants to improve relations between Tel Aviv and Astana and "benefit from further regional cooperation."
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Tokayev had arrived in Washington for a meeting with Trump and participation in the Central Asia–USA summit. Tokayev was met by First Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
