The list of the best teachers of Russian children's art schools, colleges and universities includes 15 Moscow teachers, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

When choosing the winners, the expert commission took into account three criteria: the author's methods, the results of the students and their own creative projects.

"About 7.7 thousand teachers work in children's art schools, specialized colleges and universities in the capital. There are many honored and national artists of Russia, holders of other honorary titles among them. They teach students in more than 40 fields, from music and painting to web design and computer graphics," Sergunina said.

11 award winners work in the capital's children's art schools named after I.F. Stravinsky, N.G. Rubinstein, Y.S. Saulsky, Izmailovo, Sokolniki and Kuskovo schools, as well as in children's music schools named after V.V. Stasov, N.S. Golovanov, V.V. Andreev. and E.G. Gilels. Other winners teach at the Moscow State College of Musical Performance named after F. Chopin Academy of Jazz and the Moscow Gnessin Secondary Special Music School.

Since 2022, the Russian Ministry of Culture has been awarding prizes to 150 of the best teachers of children's art schools, colleges and universities on a competitive basis. This year, 535 people applied for them.
