Russian wines won medals at the international tasting competition in China
Wines from Russia have won medals at the China Wine Competition international tasting competition. Almost two dozen manufacturers presented their best samples. Massandra's "White Red Stone Nutmeg" received 96 out of 100 points. The results were published on the official website of the contest.
It is noted that the wines received the following results: Inkerman — one gold, three silver, two bronze; Massandra — three gold, two silver; Divnomorskoe — one silver, two bronze; Mezbi — one gold, eight bronze; Abrau-Durso — one gold, one silver, three bronze.
The experts evaluated the wines according to a double system — blind tasting and strict criteria, including: appearance, aroma and taste, combination with food and compliance with the variety.
On October 19, Eurostat reported that in August France increased wine exports to Russia to €1.2 million. Italy remains the main supplier of wine from the European Union to Russia, but its exports in August decreased by a quarter to €16 million. In addition, the total volume of wine imports from EU countries to Russia in August amounted to €43.2 million, which is 13.5% less than in July.
In June, as part of the Russian Retail Week in Moscow, the best samples of Russian wine were demonstrated and tasted. Record figures were recorded at the largest wineries in the Republic of Crimea. For example, the Massandra grape and wine factory produced 22.5 million bottles last year, which was a historic high.
Roskachestvo analysts, in turn, told Izvestia on September 20 that domestic wineries are refocusing on producing sparkling wines of the most "dry" categories — brut and extra-brut. The traditionally popular semi-sweet wine continues to fall. It was noted that pink sparkling wines have become fashionable, the production of which is growing faster than white wines.
