The French Embassy has denied rumors about visa restrictions for Russians.
The spreading reports about the preparation of restrictions on the issuance of visas to Russian citizens are a lie. This was announced on November 6 by the French Embassy in Russia.
"France's policy in this area remains unchanged," the embassy said in response to a question from RBC.
On November 5, Politico newspaper reported, citing sources close to the situation, that the European Union (EU) was allegedly going to tighten the conditions for issuing Schengen multivisa visas to Russians within a week. It was noted that Russians will receive single-entry visas in most cases.
On November 5, the German Embassy in Russia announced that in order to enter Germany, Russian citizens will need to have a biometric passport from January 1, 2026. In this case, the exception will be the old-style passports, which already have a valid German visa.
