The family of a Volgograd resident who died as a result of a night attack by a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will receive compensation of 1 million rubles. This was announced on November 6 by the governor of the region, Andrei Bocharov, at a meeting with municipal leaders.

The head expressed his condolences to the man's family and friends.

"They will receive the necessary assistance — a decision has been made to allocate financial compensation in the amount of 1 million rubles," the Volgogradskaya Pravda newspaper quoted the press service of the city administration as saying.

Bocharov said that several houses and property of local residents were damaged in the city after the attack of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The authorities are helping to eliminate the consequences. Critical infrastructure is not affected.

In the morning it became known that a civilian was killed in Volgograd as a result of a Ukrainian UAV attack. Bocharov pointed out that a 24-storey apartment building on Garya Khokholova Street had been subjected to a terrorist attack. In addition, the governor clarified that in some areas of Volgograd, damage to the glazing of residential buildings and cars was recorded.
