High-tech medical care is becoming more and more accessible to children in Moscow. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

"Today, modern technologies are used in all children's hospitals in the city," the mayor said in his channel in the MAX. — Moscow doctors successfully use many new and unique developments, from innovative genetically engineered and cellular drugs to minimally invasive surgical interventions. All this allows doctors to succeed in treating even the most serious diseases."

According to the mayor, over the past year alone, the number of children who have been provided with high-tech treatment in city hospitals within the framework of the pediatrics profile has increased by 44%.

Sobyanin also noted that the possibilities of pediatric medicine in Moscow are constantly expanding, and high technologies are being introduced into pediatric practice. The construction of new medical complexes continues, the infrastructure is being modernized and updated, the reception departments have been reconstructed in all children's hospitals, and two new children's buildings have been opened as part of the MMCC "Kommunarka". "We are purchasing the latest equipment for fast and accurate diagnosis, gentle operations and the use of advanced treatment methods," the mayor added.

In June, Sobyanin announced that over the past five years, the number of operations for children with congenital heart defects in Moscow has increased by 30%. He noted that such indicators were achieved "thanks to the comprehensive development of pediatric cardiology care."

As the mayor pointed out, specialized centers operate on the basis of the two largest children's hospitals named after N.F. Filatov and Morozovskaya. "Modern technologies make it possible to treat even the smallest patients, including premature babies," Sobyanin said. "Doctors perform high—tech operations both on the open heart and using gentle X-ray endovascular methods — without incisions." This practice avoids many complications and shortens the child's hospital stay, he added.
