Goalkeeper of the St. Louis Blues hockey club Jordan Binnington tried to steal the 900th puck of Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals hockey Club. This happened on November 5 during a meeting of the teams, which took place as part of the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season at the Capital One Arena.

According to the "Sport-Express", the goalkeeper of the losing team with a score of 1-6, 32-year-old Canadian Binnington, hid the puck under his equipment. This happened at a time when the winning team was rejoicing at the record set by Ovechkin.

The theft was prevented by the referee of the match, who drove up to the goalkeeper and called on him to return the puck.

Ovechkin set a record on the night of November 5-6, scoring a goal in the 22nd minute of the game. His assistant was the Canadian defender Jacob Chikran. The Russian hockey player was congratulated on his achievement by the press service of his team.
