Russian forward of the Washington Capitals hockey club Alexander Ovechkin scored his 900th goal on the night of November 5-6 during a match against the St. Louis Blues during the regular season of the National Hockey League (NHL), thereby updating the sniper record.
Earlier, on October 26, Ovechkin, taking part in a match against HC Columbus Blue Jackets, was able to score the 899th goal and thereby match the 1999 Stanley Cup winner Mike Modano. The game ended with a score of 5:1 in favor of the Russian team.
