The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Mark Rutte, discussed with the head of the Belgian Ministry of Defense, Theo Francken, incidents involving unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the territory of the kingdom. During the discussions, Rutte promised that NATO would provide support in the fight against drones. This was announced on November 5 by the press service of the alliance.

It was also noted that the countries that make up the alliance will provide assistance to Brussels to "respond to this challenge."
On the same day, Franken announced that due to incidents with unidentified drones in the skies over Belgium, his state intends to activate in the near future Article 4 of the Washington Treaty of NATO, which implies security consultations with the countries of the bloc.
