Russia sent over 1,000 tons of wheat to Armenia via Azerbaijan
Russia has sent 15 grain carriers with more than 1,000 tons of wheat to Armenia, which passed through the territory of Azerbaijan. This was announced on November 6 by the Russian Ministry of Transport.
"The first batch of grain was sent to Armenia via Azerbaijan by rail. <...> 15 grain carriers passed through the territory of Azerbaijan and have already crossed the border of Georgia with Armenia. <...> This is the first case of such transportation since the 90s," the ministry said in a statement posted on the Telegram channel.
It is emphasized that by the end of January of the coming year, 132 more wagons with wheat are planned to be shipped along this route, organized by the Russian company Russian Railways (RZD). In addition, the Ministry of Transport added that the development of the supply of other categories of goods to Armenia is currently underway.
Ruslan Alisultanov, head of the export Committee of the National Union of Milk Producers (Soyuzmoloko), Chairman of the Board of Directors of Health & Nutrition, on September 30, in a conversation with Izvestia, pointed out the desire of the Russian Federation to strengthen the presence of Russian products in the markets of Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. He stressed that our country has a huge export potential, particularly in the dairy industry.
