Shchukino will host events in honor of World Science Day

Guided tours, lectures and an immersive performance organized by the public advisers of the capital will be held in Shchukino district to mark the World Science Day and the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry. This was reported in the Department of Territorial executive authorities of Moscow.

On November 9, an excursion "80 years of Victory and the Nuclear Industry for the world" will take place, which will be conducted by Evgenia Markizova, public adviser and founder of the Center for the Preservation of the Heritage of Soviet Scientists. The start is at 12:00, meeting place: Marshal Vasilevsky Street, 4th exit of Shchukinskaya metro station. Registration is required to participate.

According to Markizova, "the route includes an inspection of architectural ensembles designed by Alexey Shchusev and Ivan Zholtovsky, a visit to one of the oldest kindergartens in Moscow and the preserved sculptures of the Yunost Stadium." The museum of everyday life of Soviet scientists is scheduled to display personal belongings of researchers and a thematic quiz. "The duration of the tour is 2 hours," she added.

The educational program also includes classes in chemistry and atomic science for children, which are conducted by Margarita Krapivina, a public adviser, an engineer and technologist at the A.A. Bochvar VNIINM. "Now we are preparing an intellectual game "What? Where? When?“with the participation of scientists from our institute. We are also planning to show the immersive play "Andrei Anatolyevich Bochvar: the Work of being an Academician," she said. The premiere is scheduled for November.

In addition, an educational program in radiochemistry has been launched at the Moscow State University Gymnasium, and career guidance meetings and lectures are being prepared for Shchukino schoolchildren.
