A child who was injured watching a movie at the Abakan Film Center complained of burning in his eyes and could not sleep at night due to severe pain. Daria, the boy's mother, told Izvestia about this on November 5.

She clarified that on November 3, her son went to the cinema with his grandmother and nephews. The boy returned home with red, watery eyes. At first, the woman attributed the alarming symptoms to the child's fatigue and the influence of gadgets.

"At about nine o'clock in the evening, he complained that his eyes were burning. I woke up at night with a sharp pain. They wanted to go to the ambulance, but he felt better after they made a compress," Daria shared.

It soon became clear that the boy's grandmother and nephews were experiencing similar symptoms. When the relatives went to the hospital, they found out that they were not the only victims — by morning, a whole crowd of people who had been injured at the same screening had gathered at the medical facility.

On November 5, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Khakassia clarified that after watching a movie, 32 people, including 20 children, contacted the doctors. According to the Izvestia source, 33 people were injured, all of them were sent for outpatient treatment. According to the investigation, cinema visitors suffered eye burns as a result of the operation of a germicidal lamp. A criminal case has been opened into the incident.
