Family psychologist Daria Salnikova told how to survive November and reach the New Year without burnout.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Wednesday, November 5, the psychologist recalled that a long weekend is a double—edged sword: on the one hand, an opportunity to relax, on the other, a difficult return to a working rhythm.
According to her, a protracted marathon begins in autumn — first the autumn blues, then the withdrawal from the holidays, New Year's Eve deadlines and fatigue. By November, many people are already exhausted, so it is important not to try to take the maximum immediately after a rest, but to distribute forces gradually.
The expert noted that after the holidays, people often go to extremes: either they try to complete the entire accumulated volume of tasks and quickly burn out, or they sink into apathy and then blame themselves for inaction.
To save energy until the end of the year, the psychologist advises not to strive to fulfill a one hundred percent plan and allow yourself to reduce your workload, look for a balance between work and rest, do not demand super efforts from yourself and soberly assess your strength, avoiding high expectations.
The main thing, she stressed, is not to give everything in the first week, but to calmly reach the finish line of the New Year's marathon.
