The premiere of the documentary project "What is cinema?"
The premiere of the documentary project "What is cinema?", created within the framework of Kinokarta Rossii and dedicated to the profession of location selection manager, took place.
The work reveals not only the role of the specialist, but also the importance of the locations themselves.: how the filming location shapes the atmosphere, the character of the scene, and can affect the drama and aesthetics of the film.
"Our task is to bring the band to where the story begins to resound. It's always a balance of creativity and very specific decisions: to negotiate with people, take into account restrictions, ensure security, logistics, light, traffic, time of day and budget of the project," says Maxim Katkov, director of the Guild of Producers and Location Managers of Film Facilities in Russia and the author of the project.
The project "What is cinema?" was implemented with the support of the Institute for the Development of the Internet (ANO "IRI"). All six episodes are already available online on Rutube, VK, and Zen. Each episode is dedicated to a different stage: producing, script development, directing, cinematography, artistic production, and the work of the actors.
In addition, viewers will be able to see the visual richness of Russia.: from megacities and industrial zones to small towns, northern forests, lakes, farmsteads and architectural monuments. The project will show how, before our eyes, the interior of an ordinary living space turns into a space of history, how props are created, how the operator searches for the frame, and the actor — the entry point into the role.
"Today, no feature film, TV series, or advertising campaign can be realized without a location manager. This is a specialist who is not just looking for a suitable location — he provides the foundation for the filming process," says the author of the interactive project "Kinokarta Rossii", editor-in-chief of the Cinema-Theater portal.Ru Zhan Prosyanov.
Earlier, on October 31, it was reported that the topic of the extracurricular activities within the framework of the project "Conversations about important things" on November 1 will be inclusivity and the need to show respect to another person. It was noted that the materials from the new film "Pinocchio" will help teachers to conduct an extracurricular lesson on inclusivity within the framework of the project "Conversations about important things". Even before the project is released, students will be among the first to see scenes that show the importance of mutual respect, understanding, kindness, empathy, and empathy.
