Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and US President Donald Trump will discuss ways to resolve the Ukrainian conflict at a meeting in Washington. This was announced on November 5 by Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto.

"Establishing peace in Ukraine will be an important item on the agenda," the foreign minister said at a press conference in Budapest, TASS reports.

Szijjarto also expressed hope that the leaders of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Trump, will reach an agreement on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

On October 27, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto noted that the country was ready to host negotiations between the leaders of Russia and the United States on a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian crisis at any convenient time. He added that Hungary is continuing preparations for the Russia–US summit, but it is necessary that peace be achieved after the talks.

Later, on October 31, Orban said that his upcoming meeting with Trump in Washington could be a step towards holding a summit between Russia and the United States in Budapest.
