- The Israeli Defense Ministry announced plans to destroy Hamas in the controlled territories of Gaza.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) intends to continue destroying the infrastructure of the Palestinian Hamas movement and its fighters in the territories of the Gaza Strip under the control of the military. This was announced on November 5 by the head of the Ministry of Defense of Israel Katz.
"Israel's policy in Gaza is clear: the IDF is acting to destroy tunnels and neutralize Hamas militants without any restrictions in the yellow zone under our control," Katz was quoted as saying by The Times of Israel newspaper.
He noted that in addition to the return of all hostages, the IDF's goal is also to disarm Hamas and demilitarize Gaza. According to the military's assessment, 200 Hamas fighters remain in the tunnels in Israeli-controlled territories.
On November 3, U.S. representatives presented to some members of the UN Security Council a draft resolution envisaging the deployment of an international stabilization force in the Gaza Strip for a period of at least two years. According to the Axios portal, it is planned to create a multinational contingent that will "protect the borders of Gaza with Israel and Egypt, protect civilians and humanitarian routes, as well as train new Palestinian police."
On November 1, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the radical Palestinian movement Hamas was preventing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and should stop looting and lay down their weapons. In turn, the UN Commission of Inquiry into the events in the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel on September 16 recognized Tel Aviv's actions in the Gaza Strip as genocide.
